Hantaran from Him to Her

Just wanna share my last week's project, wedding gift decorations from groom to the bride. Ive been asked to decorate it according to the wedding theme, which was black + red and I decorated it with lots of red and less black, coz using lots of  red roses would make the hantaran more outstanding, isn't it ? The client also provided me with a few of his own white trays ... and I mix matched it with my custom made white cushion boxes to complete the set.
Perfume set - narcisso rodriguez

If you wish me to decorate your hantaran gifts, don't hesitate to email me for any inquiries ;)

Ikea Hacker : Vanity Table

Today, Im gonna blog about my dressing table ... yess, dressing table ,every woman needs it ! :)
Its actually the second vanity table that I owned especially for doing make ups. The first one is of course in my bedroom and its not a kind of mix and match pieces like this one, which im gonna tell you about ;p When I asked my hubby to build this , I said .. I wanted it to be as simple as possible, and fit the wall just right , since the room is quite small annnd I want it to be WHITE ! yess I love white furnitures.

At that time, we already owned a plain table bought at IKEA where it used to be sort of my working space, a (place where I did my embroidery things while playing computer :p ).. its actually a table top sold separately without the legs. So if you buy the table top piece, you have to purchase either two legs / 4 according to your requirement. In my case, I just used two legs and the other end is screwed to the wall. So, since the room is already crowded with stuffs and we never wanted it to be more pack with new furnitures and items, we decided to turn the table into a vanity table ... the beginning of Ikea hacking things.

Taraaa ...
Very simple isn't it ? I just love it !  The tabletop is made of pine wood .. the texture is very fine and we just leave it as it was. I think it suits the white framed mirror gorgeously. The mirror is also purchased at IKEA and its been fixed to a frame which has several bulbs fixed all around it for superb lighting !The frame of course is self built by my hubby :) The wiring though was kinda complicated to do .. but glad that he tackled the problems well, after a few times of  failure ;p Good try !

My hubby did an amazing job on building this up for me .. the kind of vanity table that I've ever dreamt of . The one you'd probably seen at backstages / built in at make up stores :p Thanx a million !! Mix and Match is cool and funnn to do :)

With the lights on :)

Building your own vanity dressing table isn’t as much of a challenge as it may appear to be. The key point is, let your imagination run wild, be creative and innovative ! ;)

Lipstick Rack Second Version

My lipsticks got a new room, yeay ! Been waiting for this new lipstick holder to be finished up by my other half for monthss !! .. but this thing was quite complicated to do since it has many compartments to fit just the accurate size of a lipstick. The body of this rack as well as the drawer are made of  very thick plywood. Its been painted with very light kinda greyish blue to match with my powder organizer, click here if you missed the entry. As usual, its been distressed coz I loveee Shabby Chic Style deco.

The sectionals (since its mini square holes) are made up using chip boards. The board is cut into small square pieces and wrapped up using the regular one that you can get at most stationaries. Don't forget to glue up the wrapper using UHU glue. This glue holds up the two pieces strongly, and it gives very smooth finish to the surface .. always use brush to apply the glue evenly to avoid any bubbles from appear.I love getting beautiful wrapers at any Love Lace stores.. The same patterns , selling at the Kinokuniya are doubled price than anywhere else !

One drawer can fit up to 50 lipsticks max. So, one rack can store not more than 100 lipsticks altogether. I dont have that huge amount, yet ... No, I dont ! Its a long term planning so I dont have to rebuilt again in the future.
Since, this organizer is purposely for my lipsticks.. so the lipglasses dont fit the drawer well. Lip glasses are longer in length .. so I have to ask my dear hubby to build another drawer, especially to store the lip glasses separately ! :p

p/s: My previous lipstick rack is kinda small ... click here to jump to the entry. Im currently using this as my pencil organiser.

Hope you enjoyed reading :)

The Lazy Ribbon...

Its been a while now since the last update ! Recently I dont have much time to write something ... or at least post some pictures regarding my activities ( for those who care...) hehe. I was soo busy babysitting my 5 months old niece (missing her already*sobs*) and finished up my embroidery works ! So, Im here to update my latest work .. yeehaw :) Nothing much .. just two simple embroidered hijabs that I made for my dearest sis in law whose currently staying in Beijing. Before I get started .. I knew the hijabs should be simple and sweet, coz she loves anything simple, sweet, pastel colours and she hearts PINK colour so much ! So, I decided to design 1 hijab with the lazy ribbon pattern on a soft pink voile  ... Isn't the lazy ribbon cute ? This is one of my most fav embroidery design so far.
